How it works
I see that my role as a coach is to help people find the focus they need to achieve the big challenges in their lives. This can be in any area. I'm a true believer in personal responsibility based on the values, habits and passion that sit inline with your core being. For this reason I will work with you to help you discover your own method of success and implement these lessons into your everyday life.
Here are some things to know:
- My aim is to review your lifestyle choices and help you improve these in ways that work for you.
- The sessions are a consultation process.
- Before we start working together you will have to provide information that will help to give me the right framework to work from.
- For international clients we will use skype to communicate.
- I only have 5 clients at one time. This way I can focus on giving the best attention that I can.
“I’ve been doing triathlons for almost 5 years now and during that time as with any triathlete I’ve invested a lot both personally and financially into training whilst trying to maintain the same level of commitment to the rest of my home and work life. 'It’s still early days yet but I would like to say my sessions with Bevan have already been life changing. After 20 years of battling with food issues and doing the therapy thing. I knew what had caused the issues, but I didn’t know how to fix them.
With Bevan I find I am able to approach the issues supported by him as a sounding board, with patience and insight. He asks the right questions, so that I can find my own answers and offers a subtle helping hand to help me get to the next step. Together we have set realistic goals, but we have also set up processes and plans to make those goals obtainable.

I have been working with Bevan for a couple of months now. I became interested in what he had to teach after listening to his ‘Fitness Behavior’ podcast. At first, I was considering just getting advice in moving from running to multi-sport, but as we talked, I became more intrigued. If I had to put it in one word, it would be this. Passion. It oozes out of him. This is a person who really loves coaching, and understands the process of improvement.
The sessions immediately changed to more of who I am and how I could develop as a person. I’ve worked with business ‘consultants’ and fitness trainers in the past, and found a lot of cookie cutter/one size fits all approaches. ‘Follow the program’. It works for a while, but it never really addresses the heart of the matter: YOU. What drives you? What holds you back? Who do you have to be to be successful?
What appealed to me about Bevan is that he really holds the mirror up to his clients, trying to find out what drives/motivates/hinders you in your process. I’m not saying it’s comfortable, but it’s challenging and every session leads to more insight and growth. His coaching applies whether it’s something simple like establishing an exercise program, or going deeper and finding clarity and direction to lead an expansion of your corporation.

'My name is Linda and I live in Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia - home of the best grassed 18 hole golf course in Australia! Please come and visit if you ever get the opportunity.
The course is so special in this area, given our arid environment, that I had to join the club - the Broken Hill Golf and Country Club - way back in 1999. Since then, I have only toyed with golf socially. I have had a handicap with Golf Australia since joining the club, and it moved as low as 30 in 2009, after 10 years. I have no joy in telling you that I "hacked" about this golf course on and off for 10 years, never taking the game seriously, and really just enjoying the walk on Saturdays - when I turned up.
In April 2011 the golfing opportunity of my amateur career fell into my hands. My husband placed the highest bid at a company charity auction and won three places for lady golfers to play in the Pro Am at the ISPS Handa Women's Australian Open Pro-Am at the Royal Melbourne Golf Course on 8 February 2012. This is where the Presidents Cup is being played in 2011 - it is a nice course and I'd hate to hack into it.
In April 2011 my golf handicap was 38. Arghhhh!!!!! How embarrassing.
I searched various health and fitness podcasts at about this time -wondering how I could improve my golf game. One of these was done by Bevan James Eyles. He'd been talking about fitness behaviours. He made sense and I could relate to the key messages. I decided to search his website to seek out more information. I discovered he did coaching.
In June 2011 I made email contact with Bevan and told him I wanted to lower my handicap to the mid 20s by end January 2012. We have been on Internet video calls weekly since then.
My motivation was initially the Pro-Am in Melbourne in February 2012.
Here am I in late October 2011 well on the way to that goal. My handicap is now 27! I still have 3 months to move another three strokes down, but I am not focussed on that goal any more. Bevan has taught me better behaviours than that. I have gained some insights to processes that will get my game to a consistent level.
Most impressively, Bevan's guidance in fitness behaviours are so relevant to my professional career as well. I find myself deploying the tools he recommends to everyday work situations. As I said, he makes sense. And the key reason why he makes sense is because he makes me dig deep into my own thoughts and experiences and inevitably, I find solutions that work for me.
